Death
Death
The Death (XIII) is the 13th trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks. It is used in Tarot card games as well as in divination. The card typically depicts the Grim Reaper, and when used for divination is often interpreted as signifying major changes in a person's life.
Depiction: The Death card usually depicts a skeleton, sometimes riding a horse but more often wielding a sickle. Surrounding it are dead and dying people from all classes, including kings, bishops and commoners.
Meaning: Unlikely that this card actually represents a physical death. Typically it implies an end, possibly of a relationship or interest, and therefore implies an increased sense of self-awareness.
Upright card (keywords): Endings, Failure, Letting go of attachments, Mortality, Profound change, Severe illness
Reversed card (keywords): Delayed endings, Depression, Living unaware, Long terminal illness, Resistance to change
Element: Water
Ruling planet: Pluto
For this card I wanted to take a different approach to the typical scary "Reaper". I wanted to make it more of an "Angel of death" transporter of soul's, rather than a monster.
